“I just wish…” “What do you wish?” “I wish I could have changed it all.” For years Bilbo has written about his adventures and told stories about his dealings with dwarves and dragons. To most it seemed like fanciful nonsense but to Bilbo it was all very real. A weight followed him home from his travels, one called regret. Now in his final moments Bilbo has a choice to make – go quietly into death’s embrace or go back again and face all the fear and pain for the chance to make things right? Of course, change is a fickle thing and not everything can be done again as Bilbo is about to find out. In the end, it may not only be salvation that he’s fighting for.

Belladonna, on her way to the Iron Hills, dies in childbirth after finding shelter in a destroyed and abandoned Erebor. Her newborn son, Bilbo, is left in the Mountain, raised by Smaug.When Thorin and his Company come to reclaim their home, they’re surprised to find a Hobbit within its walls.

Bilbo Baggins has been a hobbit for many long years and he should very much like to keep it that way, thank you very much. An old friend drops by Bag End with the offer of an adventure and despite Bilbo's refusal, the idea of only thirteen dwarves and a wizard facing a dragon may just convince him yet. After all, he has experience with the Great Dragons of the North. Once upon a time, he was one.

It's been thirty five years since the Battle of Five Armies which left Bilba exiled from Erebor. Now a lone figure stands nervously at the gates, unsure as to the welcome she is to receive. For the rest of Thorin's Company, things are about to get turned upside down.

Thorin was certain he had a problem.After all, the man looked like a bloody grocer- like some curly haired, bright eyed, bushy tailed cherub: totally vanilla and not sexy in any way at all.At least, that was what Thorin was trying to tell himself.

"The Burglar?" Thorin cuts him off. He has to know. He has to know. Balin takes a deep breath, and Thorin feels like the world is dropping out from below him as Balin gently says, "we found him on the battlefield-"

Belladonna Baggins the Second is an Odd Hobbit, the Mad Baggins. She has always acted every inch of the Took her mother was, until her parents died that is. Left with her younger brother to care for, she has tried to make herself become every inch the Baggins she needs to be. She doesn't realize how badly that was going until a wizard shows up on her stoop. With nowhere else to go, Bella packs up both herself and Bilbo and joins the Company of one Thorin Oakenshield. The only problem is they think she's a male, and she's not sure how to tell them she isn't without meeting the business end of someone's axe. The lesson to be learned of all of this? Don't listen to Meddlesome Wizards.

The Battle is over, Fili, Kili and Thorin are dead. Bilbo is pregnant and needs to leave the mountain immediately. She wants to return to her home in the Shire, but can't without a husband. Balin helps her find a solution.

This follows on from King of the Antlered Throne. Thranduil and Thorin have now been lovers for a year and, although their people look askance, yet they are inclined to think: whatever makes our king happy….. But, being happy is not the prerogative of kingship and, being king means carrying the burden of a crown with all its heavy responsibilities. Can love survive such a burden?
