Percival gazes at Newt’s sleeping form in the moonlight filtering through the curtains, taking in his perfect, scarred skin. It’s only a few touches at first. Fingers tracing over Newt’s chest, and then brushing Newt’s hair away from his face, and touching their lips together. Newt had been clear - he cared for Percival, wanted to be with him, but not… with him. Percival understood that it didn’t mean Newt cared for him any less, even if he didn’t quite understand the rest of it.
