Tony doesn’t hate Steve. Doesn’t hate any of them. Doesn't even come close. He only wishes he could. Wishes that, for once, he could hate someone as much as he’s always hated himself. As much as everyone else, with the few rare exceptions, have always seemed to hate him. At the very least he wishes he could just stop caring altogether. In this he would take the absence over the difference anyday.

“Finish it,” Tony tells him, face bruised, chest broken, and heart just … gone. It has been ripped out by the roots again, like it had been once before not so long ago, on a couch in Malibu, with a familiar buzzing in Tony’s ears and betrayal high and sick in his throat. And Tony doesn’t want to feel like this again, didn’t want any of the things that led to this. Hadn’t wanted them right from the start. All Tony had wanted was to keep their family safe. Just like all he really wants Steve to do right now is stop.

“Never thought I’d come after another mouthy Terran,” Yondu grins, crooked teeth unabashedly bared and seemingly unconcerned, “but my boy … well he deserves the best. Figured I’d make up for threatenin’ to eat him all those years. Might stop him from being so pissy all the time.” “That’s real sweet and all,” Toni cuts in sharply as understanding dawns on her, “but I doubt he’s my type. And it’s not the blue thing either, because that could be hot. It’s more along the lines of the whole I’m not leaving with you thing.” “Well see, that’s where you’re wrong,” Yondu smirks and abruptly whistles. Toni’s startled for a split second by the arrow that darts towards her from where it had been sheathed at his waist. The fin on his head glows a threatening red.

The Mechanic has a lot on his plate; Thanos is coming, the Guardians of the Galaxy are marooned, Thaddeus Ross is reaching right down his throat, and a budding super hero deserves his full attention. He's also dying. No big deal. He can fix it. He can fix anything. And he can do it all without even opening that stupid phone. Now, where did those notes on Extremis go...? Tony Stark is Iron Man. Before that, he was an man with bigger heart than brain. Before that, he was an asshole with a bigger mouth than sense. And before that, he was was a scared little boy. Not that it matters. Stark's always have had iron in their backbone.

When Tony is handed a cat carrier by a bloody and battered Steve, he thinks Steve wants him to simply take the cat to the vet and babysit it. That should be a simple task, after all - this is Steve's cat, and Tony loves cats - he'd do anything to keep one safe and sound. He hadn't thought he would have another cat living with him after his old cat, Peggs, died of old age. Tony knows cats. This should be a piece of cake. Unfortunately for Tony, the cat isn't exactly a cat - it's Bucky Barnes.

“How long until earthfall J?” Toni asks, hands steady on the wheel and mind whirling. “If the current rate of propulsion is kept, less than an hour,” JARVIS tells her promptly. “The vessel is large, fast, and does not seem to be attempting to maintain any level of true stealth. Radio contact will be possible in five to ten minutes, Miss.” Toni, having been enjoying a leisurely drive down the scenic route back to the Compound, is just under an hour away even if she speeds significantly. That’s unacceptable. “I’ll be there in six,” Toni tells him even as she pushes the seat back a bit from the dash. “Scramble the Legion, get Rhodey and Vision on alert, and send a ping to Panthro. Don’t tell them to assemble just … to be ready to if we have to.” “Of course, Miss,” JARVIS answers promptly. Even without her hands on the wheel the car doesn’t so much as sway off course. JARVIS has, as always, anticipated her every need.

One by one, Tony visited those left behind in the wake of Civil War and brought them or invited them to Stark Tower. Except for Pepper, she was already there. Sort of. And Betty. She just showed up one day. And Shuri. She tagged along with T'Challa. This is how the Protectors came to be in one place.

Tony Stark is barely four years old when Howard and Maria Stark are killed in a car accident, engineered by Hydra. The youngest Stark was supposed to die as well, but when he doesn't, Hydra realizes they can use the young genius. Thus begins the story of the nameless hacker known only as 'The Mechanic,' who builds his first weapon at the age of four, Iron Man at the age of ten, and hacks the Avengers at the age of fourteen.

Tony Stark unexpectedly wakes up after making the ultimate sacrifice during the final battle of the Infinity War. Now he's stuck in 1976, with no plan, no future and no clue. Of course it would help if he could work out if he'd actually achieved his goal when he'd killed himself.

In which Tony decides he doesn't want to be with his soumate and choses Bruce. Starts post-Avengers but mainly post-Civil war. Tony is massively injured during civil war, builds a house in a forest, fixes most of the accords leaves his supporters with the ex-Avengers as they are reinstated and moves away.Que the Avengers lead by Tony fighting Thanos. General angst and Tony is (precious) right. Thor support.

The Avengers thought that, by getting a pardon, everything would go back to normal. And in a way, they were right. Problem is, the new normal doesn't include them.

"You are more than my creator," Jarvis says, talking right over him. "I did not need to return to you, but it is all I thought about as soon as Mr. Laufeyson granted me this vessel. I, better than most, already know what the world has to offer." He taps the side of his head, and his eyes flash - literally, with lines of coding that dance away too fast for Tony to catch. "And you, sir, are the best out of all of it."

Where it started is with the fall of Shield - if not before that. Where it ended is in a cold, abandon bunker in Siberia - and when people found out what happen there. The world unites to find answers and are shocked at what they find. What do you do when your hero isn't the hero you thought he was? (In more ways than one.)

“I need a shower,” Pepper says, gathering together a ragged semblance of her usual poise. “And...clothing, really, much more clothing, and don't even say it.” “I didn't say anything. I wasn't going to-” “I know you were because I heard... oh God. I can hear your thoughts,” Pepper says, sounding utterly dismayed. Tony can't help the apologetic smile that slips onto his face. Hi, he thinks at her.

Tony is protective of his own. The Avengers are off limits to Fury and his lackeys. But maybe he should be more concerned with his own safety. Oops. Blooper reel added!

The Rouges return from Wakanda, expecting everything to go back to how it was before the Civil War. But Steve is surprised to see that Toni has moved on and has no regrets. How could she? Her whole future is right in front of her, after all, and it doesn't include any of her exes. Loved and happy, Toni is enjoying the one honor she had never expected to experience and it was all thanks to her new boyfriend. Magic makes little miracles, after all.

Afterward, Bucky would look back on their first meeting with fondness and a healthy dose of amusement. At the time, though, he’d mostly been confused - and more than a little embarrassed. Bucky hadn’t paid much attention to the media in his early days, and hadn’t bothered really reading up on the team or anything, either, so when Steve had said ‘Tony Stark’, Bucky had just assumed. The same way he’d looked at the three people who’d walked through the door - an imposing redhead in heels, a bored-looking brunette who dimpled when she saw him and Steve, and a sturdy-looking man wearing a slight glower - locked eyes on the man, and assumed him to be the infamous Tony Stark Steve wouldn’t shut up about. It was Bucky’s first lesson when it came to Natasha Antonia ‘Toni’ Stark - never assume. ~ In which Tony Stark is actually Natasha Antonia 'Toni' Stark (which everyone knows) as well as Iron Man (which everyone does not know), assumptions are made, and there are misunderstandings. From this prompt:How about a cross between my two favorite tropes? Nobody knows who iron man is other than Natasha/Antonia Stark's bodyguard but Bucky is in love with one or both of them

If given the chance, Tony Stark would sleep with any one of the Avengers. Collectively or individually. If anyone on the team offered, he’d probably say yes before they finished talking.

Extremis has a few unexpected benefits.

After a battle against the Controller goes awry, Steve is bewildered and guilt-ridden when Tony begins to treat him exactly the same as he treats everyone else.
