Jake’s anger was palpable enough to burn a hole through steel, his jaw clenched so hard that his teeth creaked audibly. “Who would choose to leave a child on Pandora? Who would have a child in an obvious warzone? Who the fuck would endanger a kid like that?” he asks, all of them rhetorical because no one would be able to answer them anyway.
“And how the hell did Selfridge think it was a good idea to tell someone just as he was getting on an aircraft to leave?!” Jake asks again, getting more irate and angry, nearly tearing his hair out at this point. “That’s like saying ‘Oh peace out guys, but don’t forget there’s a literal child in there who could starve if left alone’.
