UNSG Moreau had not been a science fiction fan before getting involved in politics. He is even less of one now that real live aliens have contacted Earth. Otherwise known as a bunch of non-game humans suddenly have to deal with Trolls.

Karkat always assumed that his life would be over as soon as the Empire caught wind of the cherry-colored sludge pumping through his vascular system. No muss, no fuss--just a good, clean culling fork to the chest. Little did he know that there was something far worse in store... "Please tell me my auricular sponge clots are failing me here. Tell me I did not just hear you say that you are sending me to some shithole alien planet where I will be nook deep in squishy hairless monkeys.” Meanwhile on Alternia: the political tides are shifting and the disappearance of a certain mutant blood sets into motion a revolution which could entangle Alternia and Earth together forever--or destroy them both.

After near a century of abandonment from their home planet, aliens known as “Trolls” have blended perfectly into Earth’s everyday life. They go to school, work, play, and even some mate with humans. The troll society (typically violent, contradictory, and hemophobic,) has mellowed out exponentially, leaving behind the majority of the old customs, despite a few Purple and fuschia bloods clinging to “highblood” titles. Karkat Vantas, a small troll born with mutated blood (just like the rest of his family), is bullied mercilessly by a group of highblood indigo trolls until one of the indigos’ brother, Gamzee Makara, stands up for him and they form a moiraillegence that lasts well into the highschool years when both of the trolls feel as if they are flushed for one another. Having progressed their relationship exponentially; Gamzee and Karkat are the happiest they’ve ever been, living together and cherishing the time they have. But what will happen when Karkat’s tormentor, Kurloz decides that Karkat isn’t worthy of his brother and takes it into his hands to make sure Karkat and Gamzee are never happy together ever again?

Karkat has always been the one in charge when it comes to his diamond status with Gamzee, he has always been the one keeping Gamzee safe, cleaning up his wounds, berating him when he gets out of line, and keeping him mentally and emotionally stable. They were an unlikely pair since they first hooked up, but they've worked just as fine as any other healthy diamond on alternia. However, when rescued from the clutches of Gamzee's own brethren, it's up to the clown to be the strong one in their relationship.
