In a world where alpha births have been declining and omegas live in collectives, Steve lives together with four other omegas - Tony, Peter, Loki and Quill. They have finally decided to buy ownership of an alpha from the government-run alpha pound, one that will service them through their heats and protect them. This is where all alphas are brought up, as they are seen as too aggressive to be raised amongst normal citizens. Now Steve has to decide which one to buy - that's when he catches a glimpse of a certain metal-armed alpha through the bars of his cell.

Even in the darkened room, Bucky can still seem to see the expanse of Steve’s pupils, turning his grin into a smirk as he leans in and says in his ear, “Someone like that?” “You know I like watchin’ you dance, you fuckin’ jerk,” Steve mumbles back, just loud enough for him to hear. “Wish I could get you alone right now,” Bucky nearly growls. “Would fuck you until you screamed.” Steve’s mouth falls open, and in his pants, he gets impossibly harder. But before he can sputter anything out in response, Bucky’s straightening back up with an innocent look on his face. Steve just stands there... cursing Bucky over and over in his head and hoping to god they can find some time later to get each other alone when they’re at one of the hotel rooms. Even a bathroom with all of their friends on the other side of the door would be perfectly fine right about now.

I saw this prompt on capkink: I've seen a few fics where Bucky is born in the modern age and Steve is still Captain America, but I'd like a fic where it's Steve in that position instead. He finds the Winter Soldier rifling through his garbage and ends up adopting him like a dog. And from that grew this ridiculous story featuring an extremely broke Steve who does post-mastectomy tattoos, burlesque dancer Natasha, her adoring boyfriend Sam, Clint Barton who is definitely not a slumlord, breast-cancer survivor Pepper and her adoring, asshole boyfriend Tony and various Hydra douchebags.
