Gibbs comes back from Mexico to help Ziva, and eventually ends up staying. It doesn't take long before DiNozzo no longer feels a part of the team. When certain problems arise he has to decide whether he can stay as Gibbs SFA or is it time to move on.

Just back from being an Agent Afloat, Tony finds Gibbs is surly, Vance is eying him like he wants to send him back to sea, and Jimmy Palmer is offering him refuge. Unfortunately, Tony is hurt in a scuffle and, not wanting to rock the boat, he tries to hide his injury.

Making a new life, in a new place, is a lot easier said than done. Particularly when people from your old one continue to haunt you. For Tony DiNozzo it's something he's done many times before, its never been quite like this though.

AU: Tony isn't a part of the team, he's not even a cop – and still he and Gibbs end up together. The first sign McGee had of something being different was when Gibbs smiled at his phone.

Following his departure from NCIS Tony contemplated his next steps and the next part of his journey but is still to shell-shocked to know what he was doing. Will someone come to his rescue? This Story follows on from Ghost of Me and will make more sense if you read that first.
