The novelty of being dead fades quickly, and watching over his companions soon fills him with grief and guilt. (Bagginshield, Gimli/Legolas) In which recovery takes time, the dead members of the Company take to watching Gimli as though he’s a soap opera, the living struggle with being left behind, Legolas is confused, Khuzdul is abused, and Thorin is four feet and ten inches of guilt and anger. ~**~

"Even the smallest person can change the course of the future." - Galadriel In an attempt to get the Arkenstone back for Thorin, Bilbo discovers the ring he's been using is the One Ring. Seized by a need to destroy gold, especially gold with the ability to ensnare creature and king alike, he sets out alone for Mordor. Anything to forget about the love that gold cost him. What he doesn't know is that Thorin is no longer under the thrall of gold, and is desperately racing to catch up with him to keep him safe. They may have just started on another adventure, but this one may not end as well as their first quest.

After the Battle of the Five Armies and return to home, Bilbo feels strangely restless. Well, the way his family tries to marry him off might be contributing to this. The One Ring decides it needs to understand its bearer better in order to properly manipulate him - the hobbit is proving unexpectedly good at resisting its influence. The road to East is long and this was never supposed to happen, but violence was never Bilbo's preference when it came to solving problems - whether he was aware that a problem existed or not. The Wise and the Mighty might say that everything has already been tried against Sauron, but Good Hobbit Sense and actually communicating somehow hadn't made that list.

He did not want to be bonded, did not want a husband or wife, and did not want the responsibility that came with these damn things.' Completely ignores the storyline, you've been warned.

Crappy Summary is Crappy!! Death had gone to personally collect the Potter Family's souls that fateful Samhain night. But to his surprise, someone survived and after a look into the future of the child, he opts to be a Troll to his sister Fate and raise the child. Taking the Potter child away to be raised in a relatively safe location, he also throws a few wrenches into a certain Headmaster's plans by making Harry Potter his Master from infancy on ward! How will Harry handle that plus a brewing war in the Eastern lands of Arda? And when he is brought back to his home world, how will he handle that? Well read and Find out!

AU. Extended version of Loves Death. Stranded in Middle Earth after the war Harry is content living a boring life in Bree. That is till a small company of hobbits arrive one night and turn everything upside down.

Harry as an elfling on Arda. A new world, a new life, a new chance. A new hope to finally find that which he had been searching for for such a long time. Can he truly start afresh, or are the shadows of his past too lasting to shake off?

Gimli scandalizes Legolas by offering to braid his hair after the battle of Helm's Deep. Aragorn is far too amused.

Bilba Baggins couldn't be happier. She's embraced her Baggins' half and has placated her Took half with a short trip to Bree (the most adventure she ever wishes to have). In addition, she is convinced Fram Harfoot, the most eligible bachelor in all of Hobbiton, will soon declare his eternal love for her - particularly after he sees the dinner she's prepared for him. When the knock sounds on her door she just knows it heralds the first day of the rest of her life as a respectable, and entirely proper, Hobbit. Instead of her Happily Ever After, however, Bilba gets a company of Dwarves - complete with their obnoxious leader who MIGHT be vaguely attractive if he ever stopped ruining it by opening his mouth. Clearly the only possible explanation is somewhere, in a past life, she must have done something truly AWFUL to deserve this.

After centuries of being alone, of yearning for a place he could call home, of loving and losing over and over again, he had given up and decided to spend the rest of eternity alone. But nothing had ever gone according to plan with him, so why should it work now?Drawn into yet another war, into yet another battle with the fate of the world at stake, will he lose himself to darkness again, or will he find what he has been looking for in the midst of sorrow and pain?

My take on the clichéd elfing!Harry story, hopefully with better care taken towards the integration of Harry into the LOTR books. Also elfing!Sirius.

In the end, Gimli thinks, Legolas will steal his heart and sail away with it, and even the wonders of the Glittering Caves are not enough consolation for that loss. But when Aragorn calls for Gimli’s help in dismantling the hidden traps of Orthanc, everything changes.

Bilba Baggins has returned to the Shire to find it very different from the one she left...or perhaps it is she who is different. She is a warrior returned from the battlefield to a place where the greatest threat will be not having enough scones for tea She doesn't know how she will fit back in after all she's gone through but she is willing to try. She is content with the thought of peace. The notion of living without fear of imminent death, or of something trying to eat her, is a good one. Unfortunately for Bilba, however, there is a ring whispering in her pocket, a force rising from the darkness and an evil burning in scarlet flame. And they have no intention of allowing her rest.

To put it mildly, Eleanor Dace is up to her pointy elven ears in it. In the past few years she’s managed to get herself stranded in Middle Earth, joined the Fellowship as its resident healer, and now it turns out she has a Maia trapped inside her head. On top of that, the only people in Arda who have answers to her bizarre situation, or how it happened are either dead, or bound by an ancient oath to never speak of it. Meanwhile, as Eleanor struggles to make sense of what little information she’s scraped up on her past, things within the sundered Fellowship start to move in an even stranger direction. A decision that saved someone's life has some unexpected repercussions, and as Eleanor starts to notice some worrying changes in herself and her abilities, an even bigger issue looms: Is it finally time to come clean about where she really came from? And who she really has living deep in the vaults of her mind. In the chaos of a brewing war, only one thing is certain for Eleanor anymore. If she can’t somehow figure out who she once was, and the reason why she chose to erase her own memories in the first place, she might not survive long enough for the plucky spirit sharing her head to say ‘I told you so.’

A meeting with Éomer and the apparent death of Aragorn make both Aragorn and Legolas re-examine their feelings for one another.

Every Tolkien fan has a “Tenth Walker” in them — but Eleanor Dace hasn’t read a word of Tolkien since she was thirteen and was still fantasising about adventuring in other worlds. Now she’s twenty-two, a third year English Literature student about to graduate from college; when she discovers that her teenage fantasy just got a bit too realistic for her liking. Hobbits had many secrets, perhaps as many as the dwarfs. But no one knew about hobbit secrets, so no one went looking for them. When Dwalin had told Bilbo of the deepest secret of dwarrow children, Bilbo had kept the deepest secret of hobbit children behind his teeth. Note: This story is a series of vignettes and ideas. I'll probably never finish them all, but the last chapter includes a summary of what all I might have thrown in.

Bilbo hadn't exactly meant this when he'd said that to Gandalf as they boarded the ship.No, he had definitely not wanted to restart his life from just before it was overturned by dwarves, elves, dragons, skinchangers, and oh, let's not forget dragons and gold-sickness. And that Valar forsaken Ring. This was most definitely not what he had imagined.And yet, that was exactly what was happening. And he supposed, if it would just let him save his King and said King's nephews, as well as destroy the Ring before Frodo ever had a chance to be burdened with it - then maybe, just maybe, though it wasn't what he had imagined, it was exactly what he needed. Basically a Bilbo-fixes-everything fic, because reasons. It won't be without its bumps in the road, though.

Everyone in the Shire knew the tale of Mad Bilbo Baggins who ran off one morning and was never seen again.

Dwarves do not marry or love outside their race. It would have been nice, if they could. It would have saved Bilbo Baggins' life, if they could. They cannot though, and will not. He will die of his broken heart, but he is mortal so it would have happened anyway. It's painful, it's disheartening, but it is reality. So Bilbo leaves Erebor for Mirkwood, to keep the secrets of his people safe and to spare the family of his heart the sight of his Fading. Then the true nature of his Ring is found out. Bilbo will destroy this evil before the Fading takes him. He can live until then, complete this task to protect the people he loves.
