James Potter went five years at Hogwarts without realizing Lily had a little sister. Hermione would have preferred it if he never realized she existed. Now she's stuck, in Potter's circle of awareness, and maintaining the timeline. Not like he makes it easy, or something. Aug 2023 edit: I had a baby in late 2022. I am still working on the final two chapters; I write in segments and jump from scene to scene instead of linearly, which means the final two chapters are being written concurrently. This story WILL be finished - please stop leaving comments saying it's abandoned because it is not. I have outgrown Harry Potter fandom (as seen by my more recent story updates), but I am committed to finishing this story because it has been a labour of love. It will just take a longer time, and I'm hoping that once my little one is in daycare and I'm back at work I will be able to write more.

But he knows the proper answer – how they play this game right – so he answers obediently, “No, daddy.” “Good boy,” Bucky says lovingly, tugging Steve’s chin up so he can give his lips a small, warm kiss.

Starts pre-Serum, in which Bucky takes seriously terrible care of himself because he’s trying to stifle the feelings he keeps having for Steve. Steve gets so pissed that he flat out orders Bucky into eating and sleeping and they both quickly realize Bucky loves being ordered around, but their new-forged domestic bliss is quickly damaged by the encroaching war. ~ “Yes, Captain,” Bucky sasses, when he’s capable of speech again. Steve stills. His head tilts very slightly. Not shocked, not angry. Considering. Bucky feels adrenaline flood through his body. This little punk is ninety pounds wet, and Bucky is absolutely frozen in his chair intimidated by him.

DAY NINE: CROSSDRESSING STEVE + PORN WITH PLOT + ANGST AND FEELS + HAPPY ENDING “Well… Didn’t know if I’d ever get to see my girl again,” he suddenly hears Bucky murmur softly from behind him. Startled, Steve spins around, feeling mortified. His cheeks blush, making the makeup on his cheeks stand out all the more prominently – and he suddenly wants to cry, because there’s Bucky, leaning against the door frame and looking Steve from head to toe with those warm grey eyes and… and all Steve wants to do is hide. Had he heard the front door open and was given a head’s up about his best friend being back home, he would’ve locked himself in the bathroom and wouldn’t have come out until everything had been scrubbed clean from his face and – maybe, hopefully – he could’ve put all the clothing away before Bucky had noticed. It’d seemed like a good idea at the time; now, Steve couldn’t regret it more.

Bucky and Steve take to kissing each other hello, goodbye, goodnight. It's all very platonic until it isn't.
