poppy (trolls)

“Branch, don’t be a baby. We’re your brothers.” “And Poppy is the only family I have left.” Branch puts emphasis on her name, watching as they flinch back. “You don’t abandon family. Not that I’d expect any of you to know that.” (or, alternatively, poppy gets taken by superstars velvet and veneer and it's a downward spiral from there.)

*** Title change: Previously "You'd give up your happiness for mine? But you are my happiness." Poppy is in love with her best friend, Branch, and honestly, she always has been. But that doesn’t matter, because she is aware of the expectations of the Princess/Future Queen’s mate. It is not that she doesn’t think Branch can handle it, because she knows he would make a great King and leader with his selflessness and protectiveness, but she does not want to make him feel like she wants him to change in order to be with her (the King would also be expected to sing/dance/etc.) Branch loves her too, but doesn't think she feels the same. Eventually, their feelings will come to light. Will Branch grow into the troll we all know he can be? Or will he retreat into the bunker, never to be seen again? There will be sex eventually in this story so skip it if you don't like that. First chapter is more fleshed out details and then story begins with chapter 2. Updates every few days! What if Branch went on a diplomatic mission to Mount Rageous to see if its people were truly friendly? (And no he doesn't go alone, but the company doesn't help... right away) What if Queen Barb had broadcast the whole concert online? (Yes, she threatened some Funk trolls to do it) What if all of Mount Rageous knew what went down at the Rock concert that almost destroyed music? What if a pair of siblings were aware Branch was visiting? OR Branch gets captured with Floyd.

Branch was always alone ever since his Grandma died. Nobody was there for him, so he left but stayed close. Twenty years later, he meets Poppy and she makes it her goal to reintroduce Branch to Pop Village. Branch had never expected this to lead to him saving Trolltopia and reuniting with his brothers.

Branch's relationship with his family has gotten better. Things in general are getting better. He's got a wedding to be apart of, a police captain to make proud, a famous brother to support, a niece to look forward to, a girlfriend to adore, and a city to save. What could go wrong?
