And he just wants to sleep in his rarely used bed, he feels like falling over and his vision is blurry, but Dabi is staring at him, looking for answers that he doesn’t want to admit to. Hawks feels like he’s drowning as he chokes out a small agreement without looking the other man in the eyes. Dabi was right, in a way; he had everything he could ever want, and therefore no reason to complain. It didn’t matter what his apartment was like anyway. He was willing to bet money that he slept at his desk on top of reports more than he did in his room, or just his apartment in general. It was the life that he got for being a hero, and he embraced it.
