Sequel to By Sun and Candlelight Everyone is enjoying life and their new families, but sometimes escaping the past isn't easy.

The one where Kara goes to a sex therapist/psycologist in an effort to save her dwindling relationship with Mon-el only to realize that she is gay. Lena helps Kara overcome her psychological trauma and the struggles she has with power and control through sexual surrogacy and therapy. Mon-El is out the door relatively quick. Lena struggles with her attraction to Kara and vice versa, neither woman wanting to cross any lines. Eventual Kara/Sam/Lena poly plot but it will take a while to get there. Lena has a 6 year old. Inner monologue is italicized. All mistakes are my own.

Lena is desperate to have a baby, given her attempts at finding a mate, adopting, fostering, and finding a surrogate crazy yet sane enough to carry a Luthor have failed. Thus, she turns to a sperm donation clinic allowing her to get pregnant by an anonymous donor. Beforehand, she makes a list of things she wants the donor to have and be. However, those go out the window when she listens to a clinic-provided audio recording of someone who donated at the last minute and apparently left the “record” button on too long. The donor says Lena’s name and confesses love for her while coming into the sample collector, but the brunette has no idea who the donor is and how someone could love her like that when they’ve never met. Will Lena go through with the insemination because she likes the idea of someone donating just for her, or will she abandon ship because she is creeped out and thinks the donor is nuts? Will Lena ever find out who her secret admirer is and get with that person, or forever wonder who the hell could love a Luthor? Also, what will her only friend in the world -- Kara -- think about all of this? Keep reading to find out the answers to those questions and more!

Lex has been defeated, and Kara and Lena are rebuilding their friendship, with Kara having realised she is totally and completely in love with her best friend. Kara plans to confess her feelings to Lena, but her plans are foiled as soon as she finds out about a girl called Lori. Lori is a 7-year-old girl who Lena was paired up with a few years ago as part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America programme. Lena takes Kara to meet Lori, and she immediately can see why her best friend is so taken by the girl. However soon after this Lori finds out that her foster parents are moving, and can't take her with her, leaving the young girl in emotional turmoil. Lena desperately wants to adopt or foster Lori, but she can't, due to the various attempts on her life, so Kara steps up to the plate, and offers to foster Lori. or Kara fosters Lena's "little sister" from the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America programme.

Sometimes Lena forgets that her wife is an alien. She is always abruptly brought crashing back to reality.

Two broke-ass people, one apartment and a kid. Basically Kara and Lena adopt a four-year-old Kryptonian from Argo who already speaks English and is super smart and they've known her for a year already.

After the reveal and confrontation, Kara's struggling with the lack of Lena in her life. She finds a moment of distraction with Kate Kane, leading to a fairly significant revelation. But when a threat to the city and Lena's life brings them all crashing together - who will be left standing? And what will happen after Supergirl makes the ultimate sacrifice? Don't worry, Supercorp reigns supreme. This is an angsty slow burn at first with a climactic moment that'll tear your heart out.
