The child has several, a long line so much so that it encompasses his tiny wrist, and the numbers change often, unable to stick at a fixed point. In the woman’s other hand, she holds a leather bracelet, faded and scratched, so tight her knuckles are ivory. The numbers serve little else but as a boast that you have someone out there waiting for you. Unfortunately for Steve, according to the numbers embedded on his wrist, he has ninety six years to go.

Telling the truth is tougher than it looks.

Jason has figured out that there are two groups of people: the "Heys" who keep him in a bathtub with too little water and subject him to unimaginable pain every time they pry scales from his body and the "Assholes" who buy the scales. So when he's taken from the Heys by some Asshole, he's not stupid enough to assume his situation will actually improve at all. All humans, after all, are terrible--especially Assholes who wear demon skin and don't quite grasp how lost Jason really is. (In which Jason misunderstands pretty much everything about humans and Bruce is an asshole...in the nicest way possible.)

Kenma shut his eyes, evening out his breathing as Kuroo slipped into the room. More shuffling, the sounds of clothes being tossed into the hamper. A body slipping in to lay next to him. Kenma knows but never says a thing about it. Bucky is a good student. He really is! If it weren't for this one damn class. So a tutor it is. And because this is Bucky's life, his new tutor is the cute guy who drunken felt him up last weekend. Too bad cute guy doesn't remember. Of course.

Jon’s phone buzzed just as he sat down. She was asking for a ride. He started getting hard as soon as he read her text. He would never pass up the chance to give her a ride…not ever.
